Welcome! I’m glad that you have started your search to find the right provider to help you reach your or your child’s goals. There are so many reasons that people enter therapy—stress, challenges with change, trauma, loss, and difficult emotions are just a few of those factors. Often people reach out to a therapist when they are feeling stuck, metaphorically lost, or when they just aren’t where they want to be in life. It is my goal that each client that I work with leave therapy feeling empowered to walk their journey in life with a strong compass to help guide them in the right direction and tools to help them address any barrier that gets in their way.
This section serves as a glimpse into who I am as a provider; however, please reach out if you have specific questions or concerns. I am always happy to have a brief phone consultation before we set up an intake appointment. Therapist/Client fit is an important component in therapy.

Approach
-My approach to therapy is very collaborative. I have expertise in mental health as well as human development and behavior. However, you are the expert on yourself and your world. Therefore, we will work together to modify treatment and treatment-related tools to best meet your needs.
-I recognize and hold space for the fact that therapy is work! Typically, people start therapy when aspects of their life are not going well. To get to where you want to be, you will have to learn new ways of thinking, coping, and new ways of interacting with your environment (e.g., boundaries). This requires practice. We will work together to make small and impactful goals that you can do between each of our visits. The goal is not for it to feel like homework-I promise!
-I work with individuals across the lifespan and modify my approach to each client’s developmental age. I have games/activities that I use to facilitate skill development with my clients who are children/teens. I also work on my building my knowledge of current pop culture to help keep children engaged in our sessions.
-I prefer to bring my genuine self into the therapy space. I try to emulate my values of wellness, connection, kindness, creativity, and development into my practice.
Other Facts About Me:
One of my values is self-development which has led me to be a serial hobbyist throughout my life. My staple hobbies are needlepoint, reading, exercising (running and bootcamp), baking, and playing strategy board and card games. However, I also “try out” a new hobby each month with a group of friends—we have done everything from glass blowing to goat yoga. Outside of my hobbies, my family keeps me active and my mind sharp. Their questions keep me constantly reflecting on the nuances of life and serve as a reminder for me to never stop growing.
